On July 17th, 2024, the AIANY Emerging New York Architects Committee (ENYA) hosted an engaging discussion focused on advocacy within the architecture profession, spotlighting the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity proposal. The event brought together members of the National Associates Committee (NAC), the Young Architects ForuM (YAF), and other local leaders to explore how architects—especially emerging professionals—can become more actively involved in shaping city policy and development.

Speakers Nicole Vlado Torres, David West, and John Woelfling offered insights into the role architects can play in advancing housing opportunities through thoughtful zoning and planning reforms. The session emphasized advocacy as a vital extension of design.
