Emerging New York Architects
The AIANY Emerging New York Architects Committee (ENYA) encourages leadership among emerging architects (licensed 10 years or fewer) and allied professionals in the design and construction industry. We engage NYC’s diverse young professional community with an equally diverse slate of programming that focuses on career development, design excellence, and public outreach. Committee meetings are open to the public, and are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm, both virtually and in-person at the Center for Architecture, unless otherwise noted.
On November 11 , 2025, the AIANY Emerging New York Architects Committee was pleased to host our monthly committee meeting, “Interview Workshop: Strategies and Effective Practices for Professional Interview,” presented by Nika Mo, AIA, PMP and Luna Zhou, AIA, at the Center for Architecture.
Nika Mo, AIA is a Project Architect at Moody Nolan with seven years of experience leading projects from concept through construction. Her expertise spans master planning, repositioning, technical coordination, and project delivery.
Luna Zhou, AIA is a Project Architect at Gensler specializing in healthcare design. With six years of experience, she is dedicated to creating innovative, human-centered, and regulatory-compliant environments that promote healing and well-being. Luna collaborates closely with hospital leadership, clinical users, and multidisciplinary teams to translate complex healthcare needs into forward-thinking design solutions.
This workshop offered participants a comprehensive understanding of the interview process, addressing both the psychological and practical dimensions of interview preparation and performance. It outlined key principles and actionable strategies relevant to professionals at junior to intermediate career levels. Drawing on insights from both interviewer and interviewee perspectives, the session examined common challenges, effective communication techniques, and the critical factors that contribute to interview success. Designed to be highly interactive, the workshop encourages open discussion and active participation. Attendees shared their questions and challenges, explored the best practice to make the right impression.
