09.18.14: NYC Department of Design + Construction (DDC) Commissioner Feniosky Peña-Mora discussed the scope and breadth of DDC’s portfolio of public buildings and infrastructure in a talk organized by the AIANY Public Architecture Committee.
09.18.14: Mark Lubell, executive director of the International Center of Photography (ICP) with Lelia Wanick Salgado and Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado at the opening of “Sebastião Salgado: Genesis.” At the opening, Lubell announced that the ICP will be closing and moving to a new location.
09.19.14: Panelists gathered to solve NYC’s building envelope conundrum at an event organized by the AIANY Planning and Urban Design Committee.
09.19.14: The Center for Architecture hosted HURRIPLAN Resilient Building Design for Coastal Communities (PER-306), a course providing professionals with knowledge and training to design hurricane-resilient communities organized by the AIANY Design for Risk and Reconstruction Committee.

09.23.14: Municipal Art Society President Emeritus Kent Barwick and Manhattan Community Board #2 Chair David Gruber attended a benefit for the Elizabeth Street Garden on the roof of the Nolitan.
09.23.14: Hong Kong’s Environmental Secretary, architect K.S. Wong, spoke at a Climate Week luncheon co-sponsored by AIA New York at the Princeton Club.
09.29.14: Stephen Cassell, AIA, and Kim Yao, AIA, principals at Architecture Research Office (ARO) presented the talk “ARO 2033” at the 2014 Oberfield Lecture, organized by the AIANY Interiors Committee.
