CannonDesign has announced its acquisition of Ennead Architects. Ennead will operate as a distinct studio within CannonDesign, practicing as Ennead, a CannonDesign company. It will keep its offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and Shanghai.
New Hires and Promotions
MIT has appointed Ana Miljački as the next Department of Architecture head. Miljački, who is the SMArchS program director for the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, launched MIT’s Critical Broadcasting Lab in 2018. Three years later, it began collaborating with the Architectural League of New York to produce her podcast named I Would Prefer Not To, which sheds light on issues related to professional practice. Her podcast won the Architecture in Media Award at AIA New York’s 2025 Honors and Awards Luncheon. She will succeed Nicholas de Monchaux in her new position as head of the MIT Department of Architecture.
RAMSA has announced its new Head of Interior Design, Christine Victori. With over two decades of design expertise across high-end residential, branded residential, and hospitality projects, Victori will oversee the expansion of RAMSA’s interiors portfolio, advancing the firm’s practice in the US and abroad.
ESKW/Architects is welcoming Architect Mahsa Dehghani and Architectural Designer Rebecca Lausen to its team. Senior Project Manager Winnie Moy, AIA, LEED AP, has also been elevated to Sustainability Lead, a role in which she will oversee firmwide initiatives advancing the firm’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
Honors and Awards
The Architectural League of New York has named Michael Bierut, longtime partner at Pentagram and co-founder of Design Observer, as the recipient of its 2026 President’s Medal which recognizes figures whose work has shaped the built and cultural environment. Bierut has spent more than four decades shaping how architecture is experienced through graphics—from NYC parking signage to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s OMNY.
City & State has announced its 2026 Trailblazers in Transportation. The list of leaders includes Patrick McAffrey, AIA, Associate Principal at Dattner Architects, Allison Landra, AIA, Vice President at Jacobs and an AIANY Board Member.
