The AIANY 2015 Housing Design Awards, organized by the AIANY Housing Committee and co-sponsored by the Boston Society of Architects has recognized 39 Social Housing Units in Madrid by Iñaqui Carnicero Architecture Office, West 53rd Street by Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects, The Stack by GLUCK+, One Madison by CetraRuddy Architecture, and Navy Green Supportive Housing by Architecture in Formation and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects for design excellence and innovation in multifamily housing design.

The 2015 AIA COTE Top Ten Award recipients include the University Center by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill… The winners of the Cooper Hewitt 16th Annual National Design Awards include Michael Graves, FAIA (Lifetime Achievement); Rosanne Haggerty, Founder and President, Community Solutions (Design Mind); MOS Architects (Architecture Design); Project Projects (Communication Design); and threeASFOUR (Fashion Design)…DOCOMOMO US announced 11 winners of the 2015 Modernism in America Awards, including the TWA Flight Center at JFK International Airport designed by Eero Saarinen.

Architizer will recognize honorees AIANY 2015 Design Award Best in Competition winner SsD architecture + urbanism, The Lego Group, and the 14+ Foundation at the third annual Architizer A+ Gala on 05.14.15…The Municipal Art Society (MAS) will present the 2015 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Medal to Daniel L. Doctoroff…The Architectural League of New York presented its President’s Medal to Henry N. Cobb, FAIA, Founding Partner, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners…Henry Street Settlement has honored Ennead Architects with the Opening Doors Award.

Cerami & Associates will award a $10,000 scholarship to Vida Ekhlas, a student at Carnegie Mellon; the scholarship was established to support young women studying mechanical engineering.

The Institute for Public Architecture has appointed Nadine Maleh, former Director of Inspiring Places at Community Solutions, as Executive Director.

Ralph Cottiers, Business Manager at Architecture Research Office (ARO) has retired after 17 years with the office; Zefka Sema will take his place.
