03.22.13: The Post-Sandy Regional Working Group has its inaugural meeting at the 2013 AIA Grassroots Conference in Washington, DC. Representatives from New York, New Jersey, and New England came together to share knowledge and initiate a cooperative exchange for the region. Regional Directors of Young Architects Forum, AIA State and Chapter presidents, policy coordinators, AIA National staff, and regional Chapter executive directors contributed to the meeting.
03.22.13: Jill N. Lerner, FAIA, 2013 AIANY President, with Rick Bell, FAIA, AIANY Executive Director, at the American Architectural Foundation’s Accent on Architecture Gala in Washington, DC. Bell is sporting his insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Lettres, which was conferred on 02.01.13 by the French Embassy.
03.21.13: Rick Bell, FAIA, meets with Congressman Jerrold Nadler during the 2013 Grassroots Capitol Hill visits.
04.01.13: Members of the Paris-Saclay Development Team, who were treated to a tour of important New York development sites by Rick Bell, FAIA, speak with Andrew Winters at the Cornell Tech site on Roosevelt Island. The Paris-Saclay Development Team also visited Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus. Fanny Gong, AIA, Assistant Vice President for Design Management for Columbia’s Manhattanville Development Group, spoke about the project’s many components, including its design and construction.
03.19.13: Winners were announced for the 2013 Illuminating Engineering Society of New York City (IESNYC) Student Lighting Design Competition.
03.27.13: Flint Public Art Project held a fundraiser at the Metropolitan Exchange (MEx) in Brooklyn.
