New Hires and Promotions

Writer and former Architect’s Newspaper Senior Editor Matt Shaw has started a new position as Contributor, Architecture, Art, and Design at Forbes.

The Brooklyn Studio, an architecture and interior design firm that specializes in the rehabilitation of historic buildings, has announced the promotion of Claire Leavengood-Boxer, RA, to a Senior Associate position.

New York City-based firm WXY Studio has announced the following promotions: Farida Abu-Bakare and Kendall Baldwin to Associate Principals, Majed Abdulsamad, Anna Hajdo, Manasi Punde, and Radhika Singh to Senior Associates, Nani Kauz to Associate, Moon Mengqi He and Govi Rajasekaran Umanshankar to Senior Urban Designers, Alice Song to Senior Architectural Designer, and Aakanksha Jain and Alexis Luna to Urban Designer II. Majed Abdulsamad, Kendall Baldwin, and Bahij Chancy will take on the role of Managing Director.

 

Retirements and Departures

Elizabeth Goldstein, long-time president of the Municipal Art Society, has announced her retirement. Keri Butler has stepped into the role of Interim President.

Vicki Weiner will be stepping down as Academic Director of the Master’s degree program in Historic Preservation at Pratt Institute this June. The department is seeking candidates to fill the position.
