New Hires and Promotions

Amie Gross Architects has promoted Mauri Tamarin, AIA, to Chief Design and Strategy Officer and Alex La Ferla, AIA, to Principal.

Amy Hau, who began her career as artist Isamu Noguchi‘s assistant in 1986 and for the last eight years has been a principal at New York’s WXY Architecture and Urban Design, has been appointed director of The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum.

Contemporary Italian lighting brand Lodes continues its expansion into the North American market with the appointment of Rick Leeds as Vice President of Sales.

The NYC Department of Design and Construction has named Yvi McEvilly as Head of its Design-Build unit.

With current locations in New York City, Washington, DC, and Boston, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners (BBB) has announced the opening of an office in Miami.

Brooklyn-based architectural firm IMC Architecture has launched its new interior design studio. Director of Design Federigo Luzzi leads the new interior practice, with a focus on workplace, commercial, retail, healthcare, hospitality and residential work.

 

Awards and Recognitions

iF International Forum Design GmbH, the international design award authority headquartered in Hannover, Germany, has announced its 2024 jury for its iF Design Award. Consisting of 132 design professionals from over 20 countries, the jury includes 11 members from North America, the most in the history of the awards, including Cheryl Durst, Executive Vice President & CEO of IIDA, Hlynur Atlason, Founder of Atlason Studio and recent recipient of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum’s National Design Award for Product Design, and Karen Korellis Reuther, Design Critic at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
