New Hires and Promotions

ESKW/Architects has promoted Andrea Wong, AIA, to Senior Project Manager, and congratulates Architects Wenchi (Wes) Wu, RA, and Connie Cheng, RA on their new titles.

Michal Mrowiec and Clayton Lane have joined Perkins&Will and its mobility consultancy partner Nelson\Nygaard in the firm’s New York office. Mrowiec, who previously served as the lead architect of the Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 in New York City and led conceptual design for AirTrain stations for the extension to LaGuardia Airport, is joining the firm as the transportation practice leader at the New York studio. Lane joins Nelson\Nygaard as senior principal for planning and strategies. Both work in the firms’ shared studio space in Manhattan, bolstering their combined transit practice in the Northeastern U.S.

Weiss/Manfredi has promoted ten individuals in the office, including Senior Associates Bryan Kelley, David Maple, Kerry O’Connor, Joe Littrell, Joe Vessell, Justin Kwok, and Lee Lim.

Dave Chessrown, AIA, CPHC has been promoted to Senior Associate at nArchitects for his leadership and dedication on projects including the 360,000 square foot Made in New York Campus for NYCEDC and the new maintenance building for NYC Parks at Orchard Beach.

Beyer Blinder Belle has expanded its Boston office to support growing presence in New England, moving into a newly designed space in Fort Point.

Perkins Eastman welcomes new leaders to its Executive Committee: Stephanie Kingsnorth, AIA, LEED AP, PE Principal, Jeff Young, AIA, Co-Managing Principal, Paul Grillo, Principal and Chief Financial Officer, and Salema Gumbs, Principal and Director of Human Resources.

 

Awards and Recognitions

The Municipal Art Society of New York to honor Patricia Cruz, Jeffrey Gural, and Frank J. Sciame at the 2023 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Medal Celebration.

The New York Landmarks Conservancy will celebrate its 50th Anniversary and host its annual Living Landmarks Celebration at The Plaza. This year’s honorees are Cindy Campbell and DJ Kool Herc, known as the First Lady and Founder of Hip-Hop, His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, Paul Goldberger, Contributing Editor at Vanity Fair, Anthony W. Marx, President of the New York Public Library, Mary Ann Tighe, CEO of CBRE’s New York Tri-State Region, Angela Vallot, Co-Founder of VallotKarp Consulting, and James G. Basker, President of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

The Passive House Network has announced the winners of its first Annual Climate Specific Design Award, including Buffalo Crossing by Stantec and Flow Chelsea by ZH Architects.

Paul Makovsky, Editor-in-Chief of ARCHITECT, the Journal of the American Institute of Architects, will join the jury for the American Institute of Steel Construction’s 2024 Forge Prize.
