Santiago Calatrava, FAIA, will receive the 2015 European Prize for Architecture  from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies at a ceremony at the World Trade Center on 11.17.15… The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat has been awarded the 2015 Henry C. Turner Prize for Innovation in the Construction Industry…The winner of the Van Alen Institute and the National Park Service’s National Parks Now competition is Team Parterson, led by graphic designer Manuel Miranda of MMP and the Yale School of Art, and includes communications consultant Frances Medina, urban historian Mariana Mogilevich, social impact design consultant Valeria Mogilevich, CUNY Spitzer School of Architecture Professor June Williamson, and designer and creative director Willy Wong.

NYC-based firms Deborah Berke Partners, dlandstudio architecture + landscape architecture, Ennead Architects, Grimshaw, Louise Braverman Architect, LTL Architects, Marvel Architects, Michael Van Valkenburgh Architects, Rice+Lipka Architects, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and WXY Architecture + Urban Design were selected by the Walton Family Foundation as part of the inaugural pool of designers for the Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program, concluding a two-month, nationwide search for innovative designers that will contribute to the future of the urban landscape of Northwest Arkansas.

Pamela Puchalski, former Deputy Director for Programs and Development at AIANY, has joined New America as Director of the Resilient Communities Program.

Gluckman Mayner Architects has changed its name to Gluckman Tang to reflect the formal partnership of founder Richard Gluckman, FAIA, and Dana Tang, AIA, LEED AP, who has stepped into the role of partner, following David Mayner’s retirement… Benjamin Gilmartin, AIA, has been named Partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
