AIA New York is issuing a call for letters of interest to identify two additional delegates to represent our Chapter at the AIA National Annual Meeting on June 10, 2026. Delegates, selected by the AIANY Board of Directors, attend the Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA, cast votes on behalf of the chapter to elect AIA National board members, and vote on other business on the agenda. The 2026 Annual Meeting and board vote will take place at 12:30 pm during the AIA Conference on Architecture (AIA26) in San Diego, CA. The two selected delegates will join existing delegates AIANY 2026 President Mark Gardner, AIA, NOMA, and President-Elect Hana Kassem, FAIA, to form a group of four.
We invite you to circulate delegate responsibilities to qualified individuals you believe may be interested and/or express your own desire to serve. Your statement of interest should address why you would like to serve and confirm that you will be at the meeting in San Diego, CA and available for all the roles that delegates fill (see details below).
If you are interested in serving as a delegate, please send your statement of interest to Suzanne Mecs, Hon. AIA NYS, at [email protected] by Friday, April 17.
Schedule of Meetings and Required Responsibilities
Delegates will be expected to attend meetings in advance of AIA26 to hear from candidates and review resolutions with other chapters in New York State; in addition, there will be a regional caucus at the conference that delegates will have to attend. AIANY does not cover the costs of delegates attending AIA26.
Delegates must be in good standing as members of AIA New York.
