In the past year, both Architectural Record and its sister publication, Engineering News-Record (ENR), have reported on the #MeToo movement and on recent revelations about workplace sexual harassment. The issue continues to reverberate through the design and construction business.

Together, the two publications are launching a research effort intended to understand the key issues, pain points, and best practices for prevention of discrimination in all its forms. Please participate by taking the online survey and alerting other professionals about this project and its potential. We aim to gather input from all sectors of the field—women, men, emerging designers, experienced architects, engineers, contractors, and related professionals—and will publish survey results later this fall.

The survey asks a series of questions about sexual harassment and gender bias—how it occurs and how it is handled by the individual affected, by managers, by companies, and by associations. Results will only be reported in the aggregate; no individual names will be used unless a respondent agrees to a follow-up interview.
