Last week, November 9-11, AIA chapters from four states, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, convened in Albany for the 2017 AIA QUAD Conference. Over the three full days, participants attended keynotes, a trade show, tours, educational sessions, and presentations. AIA New York was represented throughout the program, with presentations by AIANY Committee co-chairs, board members, and emerging professionals.

The AIA New York State Design Awards dinner and presentation was a highlight of the conference. The New York chapter is proud of the many member firms who won awards; the design work awarded is truly exceptional. We were particularly pleased to see two of our AIANY board members honored. Laurie Kerr, FAIA, received the Matthew W. Del Gaudio Service Award and Jane Smith, FAIA, received the AIA New York State President’s Award. We were also proud that AIANY member firm, nARCHITECTS won AIA New York State Firm of the Year award.
