Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners has acquired the NYC-based environmental graphics studio LVCK.

 

Promotions and New Hires

Morris Adjmi Architects has welcomed P. Christian Bailey, AIA, LEED AP, as a Director.

Sando Thordarson has been promoted to Principal at DXA studio.

ESKW/Architects has promoted Winnie Moy, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, to Senior Project Manager. The firm has also welcomed Schuyler Klein, AIA, CPHC, and Reuben Soularie, AIA, as Architects, as well as Holly Wolf, Angela Njoroge, and Ethan Alspaugh as Architectural Designers.

Cooper Robertson has elevated Wendy Cronk, AIA; Lloyd Helen, ARB; and Michael Austin, AICP, LEED AP-ND, to Senior Associates. Four employees were also promoted to Associate: Isil Akgul, LEED Green Associate; Alina Ahmad; Mark Miller; and Collin Gardner.

Barbara Spandorf, FAIA LEED AP, has been appointed Director of Space Planning & Capital Projects for CUNY’s John Jay College.

 

Government, Institutional and Academic

Delivering on a key promise from his State of the City address, Mayor Eric Adams named Ya-Ting Liu as NYC’s first-ever Chief Public Realm Officer. Adams also appointed Stephen Chu, AIA, Design Principal, Ennead Architects; Mark Ginsberg, FAIA, LEED AP, Partner, Curtis + Ginsberg Architects; and real estate broker Angie Master to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, and designated Bill Heinzen as his representative on NYC Public Design Commission.

Gregory Sages has stepped down from his role as Executive Director of the Glass House. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has launched a national search for the next director of the historic grounds.

Ray McGuire, former Citigroup executive and 2021 mayoral candidate, has been named Chairman of the Board of the Regional Plan Association.

The Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation has posthumously honored former dean James Stewart Polshek, FAIA, founder of Ennead Architects, with a new endowed scholarship.
