The AIANY Committee on the Environment (COTE) and AIANY Architecture for Education Committee are seeking applications for new co-chairs.

COTE’s mission is to support architects in advancing and advocating for regenerative design that promote the creation of sustainable, resilient and, equitable buildings and communities. COTE serves as a community for AIANY members to discuss sustainable design. The committee spearheads workshops and lectures with design professionals, develops advocacy with government agencies and civic organizations, and broadens outreach to the general public.

The AIANY Architecture for Education Committee is the local affiliate of AIA’s CAE. The committee provides and organizes events where architects, educators, educational administrators, and the public can meet and exchange ideas to promote better educational facilities. The committee provides opportunities for the design community to meet the people who administrate the various agencies that control design and construction budgets and discuss mutual concerns and interests. The Architecture for Education Committee seeks to maintain ties to other committees and affiliated organizations to develop events of mutual interest at both the local and national level.

AIA members interested in serving as co-chairs can apply by sending a copy of their CV and a 250-word cover letter outlining their interest in the committee, why they feel suited to lead it, and in what direction they hope to take it, to Joseph Corbin, jcorbin@aiany.org. Please specify “AIANY [insert committee name]” in the subject line. Apply by September 13, 5:00 PM.
