On Monday, 03.06.17, at the Center for Architecture, the Jury of the 2017 AIANY Design Awards named Honor and Merit winners spanning the categories of Architecture, Interiors, Projects, and Urban Design. In total, there were 35 winning projects (see above slideshow) including the much lauded Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center at Columbia University, designed by Diller Scofidio + RenfroGensler and SCAPE, which collectively took home Best in Show as well as an Architecture Honor Award. Over the course of two hours (broadcasted via Facebook Live, watch here), the winning projects were discussed in a special symposium with the Jurors, listed as follows, and moderated by Alan Brake, Editor, Oculus:

All winners will be further recognized at the annual Honors and Awards Luncheon, held at Cipriani Wall Street on April 21, 2017 to celebrate the recipients of the 2017 AIANY Design Awards, Medal of Honor, Award of Merit, and the Stephen A. Kliment Oculus Award. The annual Luncheon serves as an important fundraiser for AIANY and the Center for Architecture to support the two organizations’ ongoing mission to show that design matters.

Additionally, the projects will be on view in the 2017 Design Awards exhibition, on view April 24-June 31 at the Center for Architecture.
