The winners of the 2017 AIA Housing Awards included BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and SLCE Architects for VIA 57 WEST… The 2017 AIA COTE Top Ten Awards included Dattner Architects and WXY architecture + urban design for Manhattan Districts 1/2/5 Garage and Spring Street Salt Shed… The AIA/American Library Association 2017 Library Building Awards recognized Andrew Berman Architect for the renovation and expansion of the New York Public Library Stapleton Branch in Staten Island.
The Architizer A+ Awards honored the following projects by NYC-based architects: Artist foundation by Buro Koray Duman, Poly International Plaza by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, De Maria Pavilion by Gluckman Tang Architects, Clover House by MAD Architects, Shanghai Library East by nARCHITECTS, Governors Island Park and Public Space by West 8, and Fostering Resilient Ecological Development by Ennead Architects.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has nominated Eric Landau, current Deputy Commissioner of Public Affairs and Communications at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, to serve as President of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation.
