On January 26, the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee conferred the Women in Architecture (WIA) Recognition Award on Dana Moore, AIA, Architect, Dattner Architects. The WIA Recognition Award honors recently licensed women architects in New York City who demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to the growth and advancement of our profession.

Moore will receive $1,000 stipends towards travel and miscellaneous expenses at the AIA Conference on Architecture, which will be held in San Francisco, on June 7-10, 2023.

“Dana’s dedicated work illustrates her exemplary performance in upholding Women in Architecture’s core pillars of Leadership, Professional Development, Advocacy & Activism, and Workplace Culture,” noted the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee.

About the Recipient

Dana Moore, AIA, is an Architect at Dattner Architects committed to social responsibility in the profession. Moore pursues her convictions through the study of climate change, urbanism, and sustainable design. Passionate about city-building and the future of the urban condition, her project experience includes civic architecture, public interest design, healthcare, and affordable housing.

Through her work in the NYC Department of Sanitation’s 2021 Zero Waste Academy, and as part of the Urban Design Forum’s 22-23 Forefront Fellowship, she has leveraged her architectural expertise and her passion for urban systems to propose solutions to local built environment challenges. Moore also serves a role model within her firm, supporting her colleagues’ growth as well as her own through collaboration, research and knowledge-sharing. She has developed several publications on sustainable design topics and proposed potential policy actions her firm can take through its Sustainable Practice Group Steering Committee.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas.
