New York City faces a pivotal election in the upcoming Democratic Primary on June 22. The election will determine the outcomes of most races in our very Democratic city. Term limits are forcing most elected officials out of office, including council members, borough presidents, the comptroller, and the mayor. To assist our members with voting, we have prepared a voter guide of candidates who are the strongest supporters of architectural issues.

We encourage you to join AIANY in campaigning for its Highly Rated candidates for mayor, comptroller, and Manhattan borough president. AIANY staff will be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (81st St and 5th Ave), which is an early voting site. Volunteers do not need to attend the entire campaign shift and can stop by for as long as they like. AIANY staff will provide all of the materials and offer training. Please see the following dates and click on the links to sign up.

AIANY has also partnered with seven other design organizations to launch Shaping a Better NYC: An Election Primer, which features interviews with leading mayoral candidates on critical issues facing our city.

Early voting is starting this Saturday, June 12, and will run through Sunday, June 20. You can look up your early voting and election day poll sites here. Please note that your early and election day poll sites may be different. This election will utilize ranked-choice voting, which will allow voters to rank up to five candidates for all contested elected offices.
