Don’t forget to Vote!

Election Day was 11.02.10, but AIANY elections are open until tomorrow, 11.10.10, at 5pm EST. Cast your vote online for the 2011 AIA New York Chapter Nominating Committee. All active members have received an e-mail with instructions and log-in information. If you have difficulty with the system, contact Suzanne Mecs.

AIA Publications Update
Beginning in January 2011, Architect will become the official publication of the AIA, and nationally, all members will receive a subscription. (More information here.) For architects interested in continuing their Architectural Record subscription after December 2010, please click here.

Design for Decades — Submit Today!
There are only a few days left to submit to “Design for Decades.” Modeled after “MADE IN NEW YORK” (the exhibition that was on view in the West 4th Street Subway Station through 10.31.10), “Design for Decades” includes an open call for global architecture projects completed by AIA members. AIA will host a virtual exhibition, and projects may be featured in other venues in the future, including AIA headquarters, the national convention, and at local components’ spaces. According to AIA President George Miller, FAIA, “The purpose of this undertaking is to feature works of all scales and types that represent the scope and quality of work being done by AIA members.” There is a $25 entry fee, and submissions are open through Friday, 11.12.10.

Save the Date — Board Inaugural 12.07.2010
On 12.07.10, the AIA New York Chapter will gather to celebrate the accomplishments of 2010 and welcome the Chapter’s new leadership. Please join us for the 2011 Board Inaugural, as 2010 President Tony Schirripa, FAIA, passes the gavel to Margaret Castillo, AIA, LEED AP. The program and reception will run from 6-8pm, more information here.
