On the 4th of October, we were delighted to have Pat Bosch, the Design Director of Perkins and Will in Miami as our Archtober Leadership Breakfast Speaker. She shared with the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee and members her design presentation on Ideas, Buildings, and Other Stories.

Her architecture is poetic, humanistic, contextual, sustainable, beautiful and sensitive yet powerful. It made us reflect deeply on what each one of us should do as architects, embrace the challenges, seek what surrounds us for inspiration, and contribute our creative ideas and solutions to build a better society. Her design methodology was put forth through projects as case studies which included The Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University for Women in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia highlighting Education as Social Catalyst, The Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Ridge, Ghana highlighting Healing as a Catalyst of Change, The Miami Dade College Academic Support Center in Miami, Florida highlighting Design as Civic Duty and theL’Oreal Research and Innovation Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil focusing on Context as Driver.

The full presentation video will be uploaded onto our website in the coming weeks.
