For fifty years I have run an alternative practice combing architecture, furniture, interior and industrial design, art, writing (Casa Malaparte: A House Like Me), teaching, and research. I have designed projects internationally – from airports to jewelry. I was a member of the radical art and architecture collective SITE in the 1970s. I've worked my way through R&D grants, co-developing an ACEC Diamond Award-winning net-zero cooling system. I served on the AIANY Building Enclosure Council at AIANY, and won a Governor’s New Jersey Environmental Excellence Award. Educated at the UMass, MIT, UPenn, I co-founded Bamboo Research Initiative-RISD. Now I work on a 30-acre building science, farming, indigenous archaeology, and forest restoration research facility in the Hudson Valley.
