The transformation of Powell Hall and its surroundings establishes a nuanced dialogue between historical preservation and contemporary renewal. Inspired by the hall’s distinctive curved geometry, the design extends this formal language to the exterior, translating the building’s musical character into a refined architectural expression. The intervention enhances the historic lobby, introducing improved circulation and new social spaces that strengthen the relationship between the building and the city. Expansive arched openings along the façade articulate a rhythmic urban presence while providing transparency and glimpses of the creative activity within.
