Designed by WXY Architecture + Urban Design, the Garden House transforms Packer’s fragmented historic campus into a unified, future-ready educational environment. The 17,250-square-foot addition consolidates the Lower School into a purpose-built mass-timber structure and connects directly to the campus garden via a glazed link. A recycled-brick vaulted entrance pays tribute to the school’s Victorian-era context, while flexible classrooms and generous daylight support evolving pedagogy. All-electric systems and renewable materials align with the school’s commitment to sustainability. The project enhances accessibility, strengthens campus circulation, and embeds a new ethos of wellness, nature, and community at the heart of Packer’s Brooklyn-Heights campus.
