Purpose/Theme
In alignment with the 2025 AIANY President’s theme, See You IRL: Designing for Public Life, this 15th edition of Speed Presentations calls for interior projects that make significant contributions to the public through design, program, service, and/or other strategies. Projects may be of any type or scale, public or private. Examples include, but are not limited to, social venues, gathering spaces, building amenity spaces, retail stores, restaurants/cafes, and community rooms/centers.
Eligibility
Entries must be submitted by an AIA member who is affiliated with a firm based in New York City. Projects may be located outside of New York, and multiple projects may be submitted. All submitted projects must either be built within the last 5 years or in the planning stages, under construction, or unbuilt.
No fee is required for entry.
Submission Requirements
A complete entry asks applicants to provide the following items:
1. Project Description: Provide context for the submitted project(s). How does it engage the theme of “See You IRL: Designing for Public Life”
2. Presentation: In no more than ten (10) 11×17 pages, provide a PDF consisting of diagrams, drawings, and/or photographs of the submitted project(s). The PDF submission will be used for the final, in-person presentation, so please be sure that it is arranged and formatted for presentation use.
