Gro Bonesmo
Gro Bonesmo has been teaching at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design since 1999 and has served as a visiting professor, lecturer, and critic at universities including the Berlage Institute, the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen, KTH Stockholm, Harvard University, Syracuse University, and Columbia University. Between 1990 and 1998, she collaborated with OMA and Rem Koolhaas as the design architect in charge for the Dutch Embassy in Berlin. Bonesmo also served as co-curator, alongside Koolhaas, for the 14th Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2014.
S P A C E G R O U P has won several international architectural competitions, among them the Oslo Central Station, Tromsø Ferry Terminal, and Brattøra Hotel and Conference. S P A C E G R O U P’s award-winning and internationally-published work has been represented in the Rotterdam Biennale, the Oslo Triennale, and the Venice Biennale of Architecture. The firm was the exhibition architect for the Nordic Pavillion, “Forms of Freedom, African Independence and Nordic Models”
Bonesmo holds a Masters Degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and is a graduate of the Norwegian University of Technology in Trondheim, with studies at Sci-Arc and AHO.
