New York Designs solicits entries of all scales and types, from commercial to residential, public to private, new construction to historic preservation, interiors to landscape. Our goal is to provide a snapshot of our membership’s professional contributions by displaying the diversity and quality of work being done at home and abroad.
There are no requirements for project location or stage of completion. Un-built competition entries, theoretical projects, temporary projects, and design research are all welcome. Built projects must have been completed after January 1, 2013.
Entrants must be members of any New York City-based AIA chapter listed above. Eligible member categories include:
- Architect Member
- Associate Member*
- International Associate Member*
- Allied, Corresponding, Corporate or Student Members*
*Entries not submitted by a Registered Architect must credit the Architect of Record where applicable.
After creating an account on the submission portal, entrants will be prompted to enter project information. All submissions from a single firm should be submitted under one username.
Entrants will then be prompted to pay the non-refundable per-project submission fee. There are two submission rates based on category. Each project requires a separate submission fee as follows:
- 1 Standard – 18″H x 24″W – $200 submission fee
- 1 Double High – 36″H x 24″W – $300 submission fee
Due to space limitations, all projects submissions that meet eligibility criteria will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no selection jury. A single firm may submit up to four projects.
All images should be at 300 dpi at the dimensions outlined for the category submission and saved as .jpg, .png, or .tiff files. Each image should consist of one (1) photograph, drawing, or rendering with no additional text or formatting. Composed project boards will not be accepted. No watermarks are permitted. AIANY will use a standard format for each project’s accompanying credits.
You must include a completed Image Release Form with your submission.
