Hoek: The East River Community Boathouse Competition
was selected by the American Institute of Architects'
Emerging Professionals Awards Jury to receive an Honorable
Mention in the 2004 Emerging Professionals Program of
the Year category. The award was presented to a representative
from ENYA at the AIA National Convention in Chicago
on June 10 2004 at the National Associates Committee
Reception.
The
Competition was sponsored by the Emerging New York Architects
(ENYA), in cooperation with the East RIver Kayak Club
and the East River Aprenticeshop. Members of ENYA including
Emily Estman Kotsaftis, Associate AIA and Associate
Director of the AIA New York Chapter, Katherine Kline,
Susanne Marhefka, Associate AIA and Co-Chair, ENYA;
Maria Sutter, Associate AIA; and Hans Walter, organized
the competition and exhibition.
ENYA
and the Groen Hoek Competition Organizers would like
to thank all of those who entered as well as all of
those who volunteered their time and efforts to make
the competition, exhibitions, catalogue, and web sites
a success. You are all truely Emerging Professionals.
