The Universal Arts Center as 'Haven'
Organized along a linear axis, the center is sited between to circulation space, an open public pathway and the entry to the facility for the residents. The center leads into the surrounding sheltering park, where varying spaces of intimacy are activated, depending on the season. These spaces then bleed out into the exposed edges of the island creating a gradual transition back to the city.

The Smallpox hospital ruin is left in its aging condition to become the threshold to the center.
