Architecture Dialogue
Formulates programs addressing architectural design issues, trends, and
the state of architecture today.

for Education
Architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design
of all types of educational facilities.
Architecture
for Justice
Committee focus is on courthouses and other justice facilities. Sponsors
seminars, exhibits, tours and conferences on topics that advance the state
of the art in design and planning for practitioners, clients and the public
at large.
Building Codes
Addresses specific
Building Department and Code changes such as handicapped accessibility
and housing.
Banking &
Financial Institutions
Finance and Banking are the backbone of the NYC economy and they directly
affect the architectural practice of many chapter members. Banking mergers,
globalization and changes in technology and regulations are rapidly changing
the nature of banking. It is the mission of this committee to create a
forum for those chapter members who specialize in this area to discuss
ideas, design trends and technical developments in Banking and Financial
Institutions.
Committee
on the Environment
Helps architects develop an expertise on sustainable design and building
technology issues in an urban environment.
Cultural Facilities
A forum to explore and exchange ideas and to meet the challenges of
planning and designing cultural facilities, as well as to inform and assist
cultural instititutions and the community as a whole in this dialog.
Design Awards
Oversees the Chapter's design awards program for completed works, interiors,
and unbuilt projects competitions.
Emerging New York Architects (ENYA)
A forum for the interests and activities of students, interns, associates,
and new architects.
Health Facilities
Serves members concerned with all aspects of the architect's responsibility
in designing health facilities. Meets 3rd Wednesday of every month. Click

Historic Buildings
Monitors the Landmarks Commission, presents testimony, and arranges informational
and technical meetings.
Housing
The Committee explores issues of policy, design, and technology in the
development of new housing and livable neighborhoods. The Committee meets
at the Center for Architecture the first Monday of each month, or as noted
in the AIA New York
Chapter calendar.
Information
Technology
A forum
for the exchange of ideas regarding not only new technologies used within
design offices, but also concerend with getting technology into buildings
for occupants. Tools and tours are featured. Normally meets at various
locations on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:15pm. To join, or for

Interiors
Serves Chapter members interested in interior design. Our goal is to advance
the quality of design, promote information exchange and provide educational
opportunities for members and the public.
International
The Foreign Visitors Committee provides professional assistance to architects
and allied professionals visiting the US--with particular emphasis on
New York City; assist foreign governments seeking cultural, economic or
business information; and assist foreign manufacturers seeking to enter
the US market.
Marketing
Each year the Marketing Committee organizes a series of panel discussions
on hot topics in marketing architecture today, featuring leading architectural
professionals and other experts who have a distinctive perspective on
the issues.
Minority Resources
in Architecture
Provides a forum for minority members to discuss issues of concern and
sponsor events of interest.
Planning & Urban Design
Works with agencies to review proposed changes to the Zoning Resolution
and examines urban design issues.
Professional Practice
Provides a forum for exchange of information about running a professional
practice.
Public
Architecture
Organizes a collaboration of architects employed in public agencies with
those commissioned by the public sector. Meets
with representatives of public agencies to keep abreast of contracting
and procurement issues.
Roundtable
Provides an opportunity for long-term members of the Chapter to meet regularly
and participate in Chapter affairs and mentorship.
Transportation
& Infrastructure
Addresses transportation and infrastructure issues
Women in Architecture
Support and empowerment of women in the architecture profession through
example and achievement.
