The Public Architects Committee provides a forum for Architects from the public sector and private sector to discuss and present projects which are planned, designed and built for the Public Agencies of the State and City of New York.

The Public Architects Committee was instrumental in initiating the Chapter's Public Architect Award in 1984 and in the establishment of the criteria on which to select a recipient of this award. The Committee assists the nominees in compiling the required information which is submitted to the Honors Committee for consideration of the Architect nominated to receive the Public Architects Award.
