BIO: Roddy Austin
Roddy Austin is President of RGA Consulting, Inc. and is a network and technology consultant with a specialization in voice/data/wireless technology for higher education and non-profit organizations. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, he held various senior management positions in information technology in higher education at various universities in the NYC area. Until 1997, he was the Director of Computer and Network Services for New School University where he managed a $20 million network and telecommunications system and infrastructure upgrade of eight University buildings in Manhattan to provide high speed data, telecom and video networks to service 7,500 students and 600 faculty/staff. In 1997 he became a full-time technology consultant. Some of his clients include: School of VISUAL ARTS, The Juilliard School, Bank Street College of Education, The Brooklyn College Foundation, New York Botanical Garden, Elmer Bobst Library of N.Y.U., New School University, the City University of New York (CUNY) and Polytechnic University. Currently, he is the chief technology consultant for a $10 million telecommunications infrastructure upgrade for Polytechnic's three campuses including the two new University facilities in MetroTech Center in Brooklyn.
Mr. Austin is a participant in many technology related organizations and has been a teacher and lecturer in technology related subjects for almost twenty years. He has completed graduate work in management and computer science at New School University and Pace University and has received extensive training/education in all aspects of I.T. including systems, networking, telecommunications and wireless communications.
