FEBRUARY 13, 2001 MEETING MINUTES:

About 35 people attended our "virtual meeting", hosted in Cyberspace by web conference provider Placeware (http://www.placeware.com). Led by Placeware's Mark Plank, we took a tour of the functionality behind using this sort of collaborative tool with a web browser with audio feed coming from a telephone conference call.

We looked at several of the different components of their sophisticated suite of webconferencing tools, such as multi-host slide Show, audience polling, application demonstration, guided web browsing, screen snapshots, whiteboard, text Q&A, et cetera. During the application sharing portion of the meeting, I shared both an Adobe Photoshop rendering and an AutoCAD 3-D rendered model. Reports were that performance was more than acceptable from those dialed in on 56k modems!

Click the following link to see the information gathered while on-line together, such as who was there, for how long, what IP address, what browser, and how folks answered the polling slides!

Many thanks to Placeware's East Coast sales rep Mark Plank for a fine tour. For those that want to follow up with Mark, contact him at (650) 526-6142 or email: mplank@placeware.com
