| The Spirit of Space: A Conversation with Noushin EhsanMonday, 04/07/2008, 5:30–8:00pm A Japanese master once said, “Some spaces are silent, others speak, some, which are more rare, sing.” Noushin’s mission is to instill the power of space into what Jim McCullar calls “Design for Living”. She believes in utilizing an approach to design which incorporates elements such as harmony, proportion, light, appropriate materials, and cohesiveness of thought. This creates holistic spaces that uplift the spirit and energize the mind. In her talk she will discuss the subliminal impact of man-made spaces on human behavior.
Noushin Ehsan, AIA, is an architect with over 35 years of international experience and for more than 10 years was the managing director of BEB Consultants with offices in Tehran, Paris, London and New York. She is the founder and the president of Accessible Architecture. Since 1995 she has developed and lectured on the concept of “The Spirit of Space” and is currently writing a book on this topic. Recently, Noushin has started a new business initiative called “2nd Opinion Design” emphasizing these intangible qualities of space. Please join Noushin Ehsan, as she discusses how space can be made to “Sing.”
