Bye Bye Incandescent? The Future of the Incandescent Lamp

Thursday, 05/24/2007, 5:30–8:00pm
Global Warming. Higher Energy Costs. Does incandescent have a future in the today's "green" world? Thomas Edison must be turning in his grave!

The IESNY is hosting a four part series on the looming demise of incandescent. We begin by featuring authorities from the three top lamp manufacturers. We'll address the future production of incandescent sources, a definition of "incandescent" through wattage/base/efficacy criteria pending legislation, codes restricting the use of incandescent of sources, and the “save the earth” screw in a CFL movement, the disposal of mercury filled lamps - and most importantly - could New York City follow in Australia's footsteps. Find out how this pressing issue impacts all lighting designers.
